Small Business Marketing Investing Looking Up but Don't Forget Your Website
With small business feeling a little more confident in the economy for 2011 as indicated by the below survey, small business owners investment in social media, email and company websites is projected to increase double digits over the prior year.
However, one troubling fact uncovered by the survey is just 54% of respondents have a company website. While social media optimization and email are mandatory for a comprehensive social marketing strategy, the most critical component of a company’s strategy is to offer a home (company website) for users to come back to. A business owner must create an environment and leverage their media assets that add to the fluid conversation, give validity to the user’s opinion and provide a consistent presence to further the dialog which leads to profitable business. Without this, a business can create as many YouTube, Facebook and Twitter profiles, pages and channels as it wants but ultimately the company’s interaction with consumers will be short lived and result in a disappointing experience for your customer or prospect.
Bottom line, integrate your website with your social media, search and email strategies!
